Around 1911 they had a son who they named Charles Gordon Bothner. Charles was born in Minneapolis, MN. Shortly thereafter they moved to Canada as the family appears in the 1911 Canada Census.

Charles lived with his grandparents, Charles and Jane Hanson, and appears with them in the 1915 IA Census and the 1920 US Census. At some point he migrated to Canada and on 23 Oct 1933 he married Bernice Lenora Hansen (b. 7 Jun 1915, Outlook, Saskatchewan, CAN; d. 31 Dec 1968, Langley, BC, CAN). I have been unable to find any records on their children, but an Ancestry.com member's chart listed three children and ten grandchildren. Their names, however, were private.

Brede Jr., his parents, and his siblings migrated to America in 1853 settling in Madison Township, Winneshiek County, Iowa where they appear in the 1860 US Census as the "Braderson" family.

According to Luther College Through Sixty Years (Norlie, 1922: 206), Brede attended Luther College only during the 1864-1865 academic year, and so did not receive an A.B. degree. By the time of the 1870 Census he was still working on their farm in Madison Township. In 1871 the family moved to Glenwood Township where Brede Jr. was still living when the 1880 Census was taken.

Emma Sofia SANDER (c. 1915)

The portrait below of Emma SANDER, Brede and Siri's youngest daughter, was probably taken for her confirmation or high school graduation as she can be seen to be holding a rolled-up document which is most likely a certificate or diploma.
