Word was received here by friends of the death of Mrs. Chas. Hanson, a long time resident of Winneshiek Co., who passed away at the home of her granddaughter, Mrs. Chas. For several years she and her husband, C. M. Hanson lived on the farm now occupied by Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Ludwig, about three miles north of Ridgeway and in the Rheinhart residence of this place.

Mrs. Hanson is survived by the following children: Ben and Oscar Hanson of Sisseton, S. D., Mrs. O. P. By the time of the 1870 Census he was still working on their farm in Madison Township. In 1871 the family moved to Glenwood Township where Brede Jr. was still living when the 1880 Census was taken.
