Mina Amelia Hanson was born in Winneshiek County, IA on 4 Oct 1875. On 19 Mar 1894 she married Peter T. Hovey (b. 6 Mar 1868, Winneshiek, IA). At this time we are unaware of any relationship between Peter and Ole Hovey, who married Minnie's older sister, Clara.

Peter and Minnie (Hanson) Hovey Children

Unfortunately there were no photos of Peter and Minnie's other children. Presumably these were taken at Orville and Charlotte's high school graduation as they appear to be holding diplomas.

Annetta Gustava Hanson was born on 26 Dec 1881 in Winneshiek County, IA. On 7 May 1902, she married Ludwig Marius Bothner (b. 17 Mar 1870, Lincoln, Winneshiek, IA) in Ridgeway, Winneshiek, IA.

Around 1911 they had a son who they named Charles Gordon Bothner. Charles was born in Minneapolis, MN. Shortly thereafter they moved to Canada as the family appears in the 1911 Canada Census.

Sadly Nettie died at the young age of 31 on 8 Mar 1913 in Rochester, MN. She is buried in the Hanson family plot in the East Madison (Vold) Cemetery in Winneshiek County, IA.

Charles lived with his grandparents, Charles and Jane Hanson, and appears with them in the 1915 IA Census and the 1920 US Census. At some point he migrated to Canada and on 23 Oct 1933 he married Bernice Lenora Hansen (b. 7 Jun 1915, Outlook, Saskatchewan, CAN; d. 31 Dec 1968, Langley, BC, CAN). I have been unable to find any records on their children, but an Ancestry.com member's chart listed three children and ten grandchildren. Their names, however, were private.
